I was never able to hoop as a child, how can I learn now? I was never able to hoop as a child either. In fact, when I first began hooping 4 years ago, I was recovering from a major car accident. I was still undergoing physical therapy three to four days a week for injuries to my knees, spine, face and brain. I couldn't keep the hoop up, but i never gave up trying. I brought my first hoop to my physical therapist, and she realized my desire to hoop and the physical benefits of the movement. She helped me to get strong enough to have the physical ability to move. I found the determination to keep working in the hoop and I give it credit for my healing. I have been teaching hoop dance for three years. I have watched people as young as 3 and as old as 94 learn to hoop. The size and weight of dance hoops make hooping easier for adults. All it really takes is the willingness to try. |
